In the summertime
RIP British Summer 2017 (15th – 22nd June), we hardly knew you – but for those glass-half-full-enough to hope for an uptick in mercury levels, herald the return of the AA’s annual Summer Reception.
Hosted on Front Foot member JWT’s Knightsbridge terrace, advertising’s inner circle gathers to toast the industry on Tuesday 11th July, with a recent addition to the media landscape joining us on the night.
Former Chancellor of the Exchequer and Evening Standard Editor George Osborne will take the mic as our guest speaker – to hear his perspective, AA friends and Front Footers can drop Arabella a line. Don’t wait too late!
Working 9 to 5
Radio 4 Woman’s Hour takeover today was captained by none other than MediaCom Chair Karen Blackett, who’s responsible for the campaigns of some of the biggest brands in the biz.
Speaking on diversity and empathy in the workplace, Karen let listeners know she believes brands can make a profit and do good (we agree!) – and emphasised cultural connections over geography or location when it comes to branding.
And another Karen, our own head of advertising’s think tank Credos, happens to be hiring. If you know a brilliant Research Executive/ Junior Planner who wants to answer advertising’s big questions, please point them this way.
UK advertising collectively recovers from the Cannes Lions this week and clears some room on the mantlepiece – congratulations to adam&eveDDB, saatchi&saatchi, JWT, MediaCom, Iris Worldwide, McCann London, WCRS, AMV BBDO, BBH London and many more. Check out a full list of wins here, while we update some of that Advertising Pays 4 data…
