This Front Foot Insight Session will digest and dissect what the election results across England, Scotland, and Wales mean for your business, clients, and the wider advertising industry.
As results from polling day suggest a major shift in electoral dynamics, and with all polls pointing towards a move towards a ‘five party system’ (and six parties in Scotland and Wales), it has never been more important to understand the political dynamics affecting UK politics. This session will explore:
-
Local councils: What do the results mean for how councils might approach advertising policies on issues like high fat, salt, sugar food, high-carbon industries, and meat? How will new Reform and Green councillors treat our sector?
-
Scotland and Wales: What are the political priorities of the new devolved governments and how could these affect businesses in these nations? What could the wider impact be on the politics at Westminster?
-
Westminster: What could these results mean for the Labour government’s approach to governing over the next few years, and what could it mean for the national elections expected in 2029?
We will also highlight key policy announcements made by the Government as part of the King’s Speech.
This session will be delivered by our Senior Manager of Policy and Government Affairs, Will Lane. He will draw upon his unique perspective straddling both advertising policy and local government, having served as the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s youngest ever Mayor (2024-25) and Ward Councillor (2022-26), to deliver the session.
This event is for members only.
