Biography

Emma Cameron has worked as a multimedia journalist and presenter for 14 years.

Starting out at BBC news in London, Emma then worked as a radio and TV reporter at BBC Scotland before moving down the river to STV in 2017. Emma now presents flagship show, the STV News at Six, as well as hosting Scotland’s most watched entertainment programme, ‘What’s On Scotland’ alongside Laura Boyd.

Biography

Marcus joined Saatchi & Saatchi as a graduate trainee in 1994.

When the Agency split in early 1995, Marcus left to join M&C Saatchi as one of their founding staff, helping the new Agency become what Ad Week described in as the “fasting growing start-up in the history of advertising”.

Since then Marcus has lead many of the Agency’s largest UK and global accounts, such as RBS, GSK, British Airways and Siemens. And in the UK, has worked at a senior advisory level with successive UK Governments, including with HMT, FCDO, The Home Office, HMRC and Number 10.

In 2005 he was made Deputy Managing Director, and subsequently Chief Operating Officer EMEA in 2007.

In 2011, as CEO, he founded a new International Affairs and Social Issues Division of the company, becoming Global Chair in 2023.

With a focus on using the expertise and creative capabilities of M&C Saatchi to help tackle some of humanity’s most critical challenges, the Division has enjoyed continued strong growth since launch and now ranks as one of M&C Saatchi’s most successful specialisms.

Clients include a range of Governments, INGO’s, Foundations and Multi-laterals, such as The UN, USAID, The Global Fund, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Rockefeller Foundation.

In Sept 2023, Marcus took on the additional CEO responsibilities of managing the UK Group, stepping up to become Chair of the UK in July 2024, with the remit of growing the UK business, across all disciplines and channels.

Marcus sits as a Trustee of the Together charity, a coalition focused on helping build a kinder, closer and more connected society throughout the UK. Most recently, Together created and helped manage The Big Help Out, as the official Bank Holiday initiative of the King’s Coronation.

Biography

Kenny Farquharson is a columnist with The Times, based in Edinburgh. He also publishes a Substack newsletter on Scottish culture and politics called The Jaggy Thistle. Career highs include being embedded with Scottish troops in Afghanistan and reporting on Barack Obama’s presidential election campaign. One of Scotland’s most seasoned political commentators, he was the first convenor of the Scottish Parliamentary Journalists’ Association. As a newspaper editor he helmed Scotland on Sunday and was deputy editor of The Scotsman. He is an Orwell Fellow, having been shortlisted for the Orwell Prize for political writing. In the Scottish Press Awards he has won political journalist of the year, columnist of the year and interviewer of the year.

Biography

Following a career in advertising, Lindsey’s love of telly drew her to Thinkbox, the UK marketing body for commercial TV, where she now leads the brilliant team who make it their mission to help brands get the best out of today’s TV advertising.

She is a former President of WACL (Women in Advertising and Communication Leadership), a former President of the Global TV Group, a Fellow of the Marketing Society, an Honorary Fellow of the IPA and a member of the Marketing Group of Great Britain.

Lindsey is a Trustee of the Rank Foundation and a Non Exec Director of TV production company CTVC.

Biography

Stephen became CEO of the Advertising Association in October 2016. The AA promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, business and the economy. The leading advertising trade bodies, commercial media owners and tech platforms are all members of the AA. The AA focuses on ad industry priorities, such as public trust in advertising, inclusion through the All In programme and sustainability, as the home of Ad Net Zero, which started in the UK and now extends internationally. The AA lobbies on behalf of the industry with Government and promotes the economic value of the industry through the ‘Advertising Pays’ reports. It is the home of Media Smart, the industry’s media literacy programme and the UK Advertising Export Group, promoting the UK’s world-leading exports performance.

Before the AA, Stephen held leadership roles in four agency groups (Leo Burnett, WCRS/Engine and DDB/adam&eveDDB and Next 15). He is a Governor of Ravensbourne University in London, the UK’s newest creative and technology university. He chairs The Debating Group, a cross-industry programme that hosts debates on industry issues in Parliament. He is a past President of NABS and serves on the board of the History of Advertising Trust. He was IPA President (2003-05) where he led both their first ethnic diversity initiative and launched its professional qualifications, which over 20,000 people have now passed in the UK and around the world.

Biography

With nearly three decades of experience in Consumer Insights, Jennifer has established herself as a leader in the field. She spent the majority of her career at Unilever, where she held various roles focused on Consumer Insights, culminating in her position as Global CMI Director for Deodorants. In this capacity, she successfully led a global team of insights and analytics experts.

In mid-2020, Jennifer transitioned to freelance consulting and began supporting the Sensodyne team at GSK. This opportunity paved the way for her permanent role as Global Front End Innovation Insights Lead within the Haleon business. Throughout her career, she has contributed to the success of renowned brands such as Persil, Comfort, Axe (Lynx), Dove, Rexona (Sure), Sensodyne, Panadol, Aquafresh, and Centrum.

Before her tenure at Unilever, Jennifer gained valuable experience in research agencies and also spent time abroad as an English language teacher in Austria.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Jennifer is passionate about the outdoors, enjoying activities such as cycling, golfing, walking, and skiing.

Biography

Sharon Lloyd Barnes is Commercial Director and Talent & Inclusion Lead at the Advertising Association, which represents the UK advertising industry and includes advertisers, agencies, media owners, tech platforms and production companies in its membership. Previously, she ran magazine ad sales teams in London and New York before co-founding The Drive Partnership, a consultancy working with businesses across a range of sectors to build profitable growth. Outside of work, Sharon co-founded a school for autistic children in 2000 – now called Beyond Autism – serving children from most London boroughs.
