The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

MASTERING THE CAMPAIGN AD NET ZERO AWARDS

We held our first Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards masterclass on Tuesday morning.

The masterclass took participants through November’s winning campaigns and helped prepare them for this year’s entries, opening in April. It focused on the criteria used to judge the Ad Net Zero Awards, highlighting the five-point sustainability action plan at the heart of it.

Featuring a panel discussion from Seb Munden, Chair of Ad Net Zero; Gideon Spanier, Editor in Chief, Campaign UK; Julia Ramsay, Director, Supply Chain Risk and Resilience, PwC; and Isabelle Quevilly, Director Creative Shop UK, Meta, the masterclass also offered supporters the opportunity to ask questions about making a stand-out entry.

BREAKFAST AT PARLIAMENT

On Tuesday, team AA attended a Breakfast Meeting at the Houses of Parliament hosted by the Industry and Parliament Trust on Designing a Sustainable Creative Sector.

Our CEO, Stephen, kicked off proceedings with a rallying speech on the economic and social value that the creative industries bring to the UK and the positive impact that the sector can have on driving the sustainability agenda. The creative industries are in a conduit position where each sector can help promote positive climate behaviour change and help to break down social norms.

Stephen’s speech was followed by Poornika Ananth, Assistant Producer, School of Management, University of Bath who spoke about the need for education and industry to collaborate to truly help industry to implement research and innovation into their processes.

After the speeches were made, breakfast began with a roundtable discussion featuring industry professionals, MPs and peers.

A big thanks to the IPT for having us!
