The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

READY, STEADY, VOTE! SXSW PANELPICKER IS LIVE

SXSW 2023 in Austin, Texas is counting on your votes to help curate the 2023 conference. PanelPicker is SXSW’s official user-generated session proposal platform, giving you the opportunity to vote for what you want to see at next year’s conference.

We’re delighted to see session proposals from our UK Advertising Exports Group members, covering topics that are all close to our hearts – from sustainability to creativity.

Check out their proposals:

Madam Films: Why Your Eco Lip Service is Doing us a Disservice

VCCP: Has Advertising Forgotten About Men?

VCCP: #BeMoreDog. How Dogs Unleash Workplace Creativity

PingPong Digital: Social Commerce – What to Learn From China

HeyHuman: Subconsciously Sustainable? Eco-Friendly Made Easy

How does it work?

Each year, the SXSW community enters session ideas and then grades each proposal during Community Voting. The SXSW staff and Advisory Boards also inform a significant percentage in determining the content line-up.

Community Voting makes up 30% of the final programming decision, with SXSW staff accounting for another 30%, and the final 40% made by the SXSW advisory board – which comprises over 200 industry experts from around the globe. The board also provides detailed feedback to proposals who wish to enter the event.

Do you want to see #UKAEG companies onstage and shape the agenda for one of the best international creativity festivals?

Then vote for your favourites in the links above before August 21. Don’t forget to promote your vote on social media too!

More about the PanelPicker selection can be found here.

MEET THE LATEST ALL IN CHAMPIONS

We’re pleased to see more progress in our industry’s commitment to building a workplace where everyone feels they belong, with new companies becoming All In Champions. The latest companies in achieving this are Britvic and IPA – please join us in celebrating them!

In June, we announced the first wave of All In Champions – those organisations that are supporting the work of All In by adopting the All In Action Plan.

Would you like to become an All In Champion but don’t know where to start? A good first step is by joining our All In How-To Sessions, on how to implement each action of the Action Plan. You can watch the first 6 sessions on YouTube and sign-up for the upcoming ones in our events page.

Remember, we always welcome applications to become an All In Champion and you can apply via this link here.

In other news, we would like to congratulate Michael Alhadeff, AMV BBDO’s senior strategist, on his new role as UK Government’s Disability Access Ambassador for the advertising industry. As a member of our All In Working Group, we are delighted to see Mike’s work on inclusion being recognised as he takes on this new role to encourage improvements in the accessibility and quality of services and facilities in the sector for disabled people.

You can read more about the role of Disability Access Ambassadors and Mike’s strategy via LBB.
