The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

GREEN LIGHT FOR ADGREEN’S CARBON CALCULATOR

On Wednesday, AdGreen, which unites the advertising industry to eliminate the negative environmental impact of production, announced that its carbon calculator will launch this September and a voluntary levy is being introduced to support the initiative’s future plans.

The carbon calculator will be free at point of use for all in the UK advertising industry. The tool is bespoke to the industry and has been designed with support from those who will be using it. It will ensure advertising agencies, production companies and service companies are able to collaboratively measure the carbon impact of their projects and to identify the highest carbon producing activities.

AdGreen also published a new resources guide to give ad production teams an easily digestible handbook on how to start their journey towards net-zero. To keep the resources, tools and training free at the point of use, a voluntary levy is being introduced for advertisers to contribute a small percentage of production cost estimates towards AdGreen’s operational costs.

The news was covered in industry media such as CampaignThe DrumLittle Black BookEdie and more. You can read more about the carbon calculator, the resources and levy on AdGreen’s website here.

PLEASE JOIN OUR BRIM COMMUNITY

Wednesday also saw the official launch event for BRiM – a new industry collaboration in the UK to increase Black representation in marketing.

We heard from leaders, influencers and commentators in the industry on why this focus must be given and why now. If you weren’t able to join the event live, you can catch up on demand here. We hope that anyone who attended or watches on demand will come away feeling inspired to take action.

BRiM has published a dedicated framework which can give you what you need to improve Black representation in Marketing – no matter your level or role, there are tools and principles that you can commit to. To find out more, download the framework and tools, or to join the community, head over to BRiM’s hub here.
