On Wednesday, we invited UK advertising professionals from hundreds of UK agencies, brands, media owners and tech platforms up and down the country to take part in the first industry-wide census – All In – to provide the best record of the make-up of our workforce and set a vital benchmark for progress.
There was a fantastic response on the day and a HUGE thanks goes to each and every individual from our industry who took part – in doing so you will help us to build back a better, inclusive industry for all.
If you weren’t able to complete the census on Wednesday, don’t worry, because you still can. It will remain open until EOP Friday 19th March, so please do spare 20 minutes to fill it out and share it with your industry peers. The more responses we can get, the more comprehensive the data will be. The results will be used to inform an Action Plan on how we can make genuine and concerted progress on building a wholly inclusive workplace.
Creative Industries Minister, Caroline Dinenage, said “It is vital that our creative industries reflect the diversity of their audiences and provide an inclusive environment for our world leading talent to work. I’d like to encourage everyone across the advertising industry to take a moment to participate in this important initiative.”

On Monday, our UK Advertising Exports Group (UKAEG) announced that in partnership with the Department for International Trade, advertising will be centre of the UK’s greatest ever celebration of creative technology at South by Southwest (SXSW).
SXSW is renowned as the global meeting place for over 300,000 innovators and creators from across the interactive, film and music sectors, usually taking place in Austin, Texas. This year it is running virtually from March 16-20 and will offer opportunities to learn, discover, and foster business development as we begin to recover from the pandemic.
UK advertising’s presence at UK House will feature over 50 speakers on-stage, host 10+ international knowledge shares, include a performance, music and panels. Janet Hull, Chair, UKAEG and CIC CreaTech, and IPA Director of Marketing Strategy commented:
“I am delighted that UKAEG is a crucial part of the British Creative Industries presence at this year’s SXSW festival and will have the opportunity to present and share its message with a specialist global audience.”

On Wednesday, the AA held a Roundtable for members and some Conservative politicians.
Members discussed various concerns and policy issues, including the impact of the pandemic on their business sectors, business support measures, Brexit export issues, the challenges of returning to the office, and the business impact of other Government policies.
