The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

SEVEN DAYS FROM NOW!

Our first in-person event in over 18 months is taking place next Thursday and we couldn’t be more excited!

We’ll be hosting, along with our lovely partners, Channel 4, Clear Channel, Framestore and Newsworks, a special hybrid event at the Soho Curzon to celebrate UK’s creative excellence in our role as UK Rep for Cannes Lions.

We will share the very best work and key learnings from the last two years of the festival, with highlights including a ‘Cannes Deconstructed’ session by Contagious and a talk from the AMV BBDO team behind the ‘Womb Stories’ campaign, which won four Grand Prix at the festival this year!

Don’t miss out – book your ticket to the online version of the event here. If you have any Qs, please contact events@adassoc.org.uk.

THE AATHLETES ARE ON THE TRACK

We’ve loved watching the Olympics and Paralympics so not it’s our turn to hit the running track! We’ll be taking part in the Sprintathon, hosted by The Marketing Society, who have joined forces with Stand Up To Cancer in an initiative led by our Front Foot Chair, Mark Evans.

The event, which is hosted in Battersea Park on 15th September, involves brands, agencies and media owners who are all putting teams forward for the two-hour event. It will take 105 teams of four runners, each completing a relay of 400m back-to-back, to collectively cover 42.2km, the distance of a marathon!

Our team of speedy runners consists of Holly Bullen, Executive Assistant; Nick Oliverio, Credos’ Research & Insights Manager; Bobbie Dennie, Policy & Public Affairs Executive; and Irene Gari, Ad Net Zero intern. Go team!

If you fancy making a donation to back our team’s efforts, check out our fundraising page here. Thank you!

AA BACKS AFFORDABLE HOUSING INITIATIVE

We are delighted to be supporting an initiative by LHA London, in collaboration with Saatchi & Saatchi, which aims to remove one of the key barriers to entry to the creative industries – affordable housing – for individuals from under-represented communities across the country.

The ambition is to use this original partnership as a blueprint for success so it can be replicated with other industry partners. This initiative will inspire, enable and progress more diverse talent from across the UK by providing either rent-free or subsided short-term accommodation whilst they settle into London and their new role.

Our Chief Executive, Stephen Woodford, commented: “The advertising industry is determined to make access to the industry as wide as possible and that means opening up to talent from every kind of background across the UK and overseas. The Saatchi Home initiative with LHA is exactly the kind of innovative solution we need to see to make a move to London much more affordable, so removing what is a major barrier for many. I’d be delighted to see more agencies, production companies and media owners build on this pioneering partnership.”
