The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

TRUST IN ADVERTISING: WHAT’S NEXT?

First up, it’s Trust! Please join us at The Trust Summit on 6 October as we work to rebuild public trust in advertising. Hear from our President, Keith Weed, on industry’s progress since his ‘Trust or Bust’ speech at LEAD 2019 and be part of the conversation about what UK advertising must do next.

The Summit will include new insights into people’s attitudes towards advertising from think tank, Credos, as well as industry leaders on the action we must take to improve trust with the public, Government and NGOs.

Following feedback from our members, we’re excited to say we are planning for this to be an in-person event with the opportunity for networking with the combined membership of the AA, IPA and ISBA. The event will also be live streamed and available on demand afterwards. Book your ticket here.

UNITING ADVERTISING FOR CLIMATE ACTION

Next up, Climate Action. Join your advertising colleagues from all over the world at the Ad Net Zero Global Summit this November to discuss how our industry can play its role in tackling the climate emergency. This free online event is hosted by Ad Net Zero, the UK advertising industry’s response to the climate emergency, during the period when the UK hosts COP26.

Hear from advertising leaders about the steps we all need to change the way we work and to change the work we make. How can we create an industry where every ad will become a green ad, in the way that it is made and, wherever appropriate, in the message it carries?

This very special two-day summit will include thought leadership sessions, new research and insights, as well as practical workshops from experts across our industry designed to help every advertising professional understand their own role in addressing this global issue. You can book your place here.

CANNES LIONS UNLOCKED

Now, creativity! In our role as UK representative for Cannes Lions, we are delighted to be hosting, along with our partners Channel 4, Clear Channel, Framestore and Newsworks, a special event for young talent on the afternoon of 9 September to share the best work and key learnings from the last two years of the festival.

Highlights will include Cannes Deconstructed by Contagious and Womb Stories by Grand Prix Winners AMV BBDO.

If you fancy a blast of creative stimulus, book your ticket here.
