The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

Industry News

Our President’s Reception was held on Tuesday, July 4, at the IPG Mediabrands offices, where we were delighted to gather our members, colleagues and industry friends for the evening.

The reception began with an introduction from our CEO, Stephen Woodford, and was followed by a speech by our President, Alessandra Bellini, also Chief Customer Office at Tesco. She began by highlighting some winning UK campaigns from Cannes Lions and our success in Cannes this year.

Additionally, Alessandra took the opportunity to congratulate our Chair, Annette King, for receiving a damehood and our Front Foot Board member, ITV’s Simon Daglish, for being awarded an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours.

Alessandra reflected on all that we have achieved in the year so far, including holding LEAD – our first in-person industry summit since 2020, launching our Talent Report, the response to the All In Census and the All In Summit, our progress with our initiative – Ad Net Zero, exports figures, and our successful trade mission to SXSW.

At the same time, she also focused on what’s coming next, which includes the Talent Trailblazer Awards by Marketing Week, new research on trust from Credos, LEAD Scotland, and the Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards.

The speech was followed by drinks, canapés and a great amount of networking with a stunning view of the Old Bailey and St Paul’s Cathedral.

The event was a fantastic opportunity to thank our members for their contribution to the industry and to look back on our successes of the first six months of this year.

Thank you to everyone who could join us!
