The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

OOH ADVERTISING’S GIVING BACK STORY

Working collaboratively, Transport for London (TfL), Clear Channel, Global, JCDecaux, as well as the Out-of-Home (OOH) trade body, Outsmart, have produced a new report highlighting the positive social impact of Out-of-Home advertising.

The report talks about the impact of OOH advertising, particularly in London and gives OOH advertising credit for being a channel that gives back to the communities it serves.

In 2022, the OOH ad sector supported over 330 small businesses/start-ups and over 100 charities in London. This report dives deeper into the work that’s been done across the industry and highlights just some of the fantastic work that’s been achieved from revenues.

With commentary from our CEO, Stephen Woodford, you can read the report here

‘THE WORKS’ IS BACK

Our initiative to help the industry rebuild the public’s trust in advertising, ‘The Works’, is back!

Established in 2021, in partnership with Kantar and Marketing Week, The Works celebrates those advertising campaigns that generate the most positive public response, sharing what marketers can learn from them.

Every month, Marketing Week publishes an article analysing the winning campaigns, providing a reminder of how advertising can drive such a positive response from the public and fuel future marketing success.

Congratulations to this month’s winners, Cartier and Yeo Valley, who perfectly grabbed consumer attention with their genius magazine ads.

Big thanks to Magnetic and the PPA for supplying the ads.

Keep an eye out for next month’s creatively excellent winning campaigns!
