The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

Enter our UK Young Lions Competition and win the chance to represent the UK in the Global Young Lions Competition, part of Cannes Lions.

As UK Representatives for Cannes Lions, we’re looking to find the very best young creative talent to compete on behalf of the UK in the Global Young Lions competition, which are again being held digitally this year ahead of the Cannes Lions Festival.

HOW TO ENTER

We are running 6 competitions – Design, Digital, Film, Marketers, Media and Print. The competitions are free of charge to enter, teams work on the brief remotely and upload their work to our competition portal.

Please note that the PRCA is running the PR competition, more details on this can be found here.

The winners of our UK Young Lions competition will have the opportunity to compete in the Global Young Lions competition taking place digitally from 16 May until 7 June.

Our UK Young Lions winners will also have the opportunity to purchase a discounted full festival pass for 939 Euros. Full details on this will be provided with the competition brief.

CATEGORY TEAM CRITERIA

Please note: Team partners do not have to be employed at the same company.

  • DESIGN: Open to a team of two design professionals e.g. graphic designers, art directors, photographers
  • DIGITAL: Open to a team of two digital professionals e.g. social media managers, creative technologists, UX designers, digital designers/producers
  • FILM: Open to a team of two creative professionals e.g. art directors, producers, film makers, creatives
  • MARKETERS: Open to a team of two marketing professionals working for a brand i.e. a client company that engages the services of advertising and communications companies (i.e. Intel, Coca-Cola etc.) Agencies may not compete in the Marketers competition
  • MEDIA: Open to a team of two media professionals working for media agencies, specific in-house media departments in agencies, media owners or freelancers
  • PRINT: Open to a team of two creative professionals e.g. art directors, copy writers, producers, creatives

ELIGIBILITY

Participants must be 31 years or younger (born on or after 24 June 1990)

Entrants must be a current employee within the advertising/marketing industry, be a UK resident or have a valid UK work permit and be aged between 18 and 31 on 24 June 2022. The full criteria and terms and conditions will be sent with the competition brief to registered teams.
