CALL FOR EVIDENCE
Yesterday, the ASA issued a call for evidence to investigate to what extent racial and ethnic stereotypes, when featured in ads, may contribute to real world harms, such as, unequal outcomes for different racial and ethnic groups. The call for evidence will close on 30 June. Further information on the ASA’s work on racial and ethnic stereotyping in advertising is available here.
CAP and BCAP have also published a consultation on the introduction of new rules on harm and protected characteristics. The deadline for responses is 24 August. More information is available here.
