The advertising and marketing industries are committed to effective action on climate change. Advertising can be used to promote and increase the use of sustainable products and services among consumers, as well as being used by government to encourage more sustainable consumer behaviour, whether this be about water use, recycling, travel etc. For example, nearly 70% of all automobile ad spend was on hybrid or electric vehicles in 2022, rather than petrol or diesel cars.
