Opportunity

VCCP wanted to shine a light on the diversity of their supply chain to ensure that real inclusion and diversity sits at the very heart of their business, as well as encouraging wider change within the industry.

They believe their responsibilities lie beyond their own four walls – that’s why working with diverse and like-minded partners and individuals, and ensuring they’re always fairly rewarded for their work is essential. This can amplify any D&I efforts to ensure they are all striving for tangible change in the industry.

Initiative

To implement this, VCCP used resources from the BRiM framework to create a centralised supplier database alongside a set of principles with resources to review and engage all suppliers before committing to working with them.

The database includes all types of production suppliers from photographers, casting agents to editors and storyboard artists to runners. The supplier questionnaire is designed to open up a dialogue with prospective partners.

The aim was to ensure that they only work with like-minded partners, to help their people identify diverse talent options and partners committed to, or willing to engage with, D&I. They want to foster change both on an individual and collective level – with lots of different accounts and employees, the database ensures consistency with their supplier approach.

Impact

VCCP is using the database and questionnaire to track and measure the increase of diversity in production suppliers and partners. The aim is by the end of September 2022 to only work with suppliers who can demonstrate their commitment to D&I. VCCP wants to help those in the industry who might be at a different stage of their D&I journeys, with the aim to create widespread tangible change in the industry.
