After last year’s sell-out success, the prestigious Media Business Course will be returning in July 2023

London, 25 April 2023: The Advertising Association’s Media Business Course (MBC) is set to be even bigger and better this year, following the success of last year’s course, which made a triumphant return to the Grand Hotel in Brighton after a two-year hiatus.

The course, which is taking place from 11-14 July this year, was founded in 1964 and is firmly established as the place where thousands of young media industry professionals receive a highly inspirational and insightful learning experience.

Delegates are divided into syndicates to work on a blue-chip client brief and create a full media strategy before pitching against each other in front of a panel of industry experts to become the coveted MBC winners. Throughout the course, the delegates will receive guidance and direction from a star-studded speaker line-up including Rory Sutherland, Vice Chairman, Ogilvy; Amy Kean, Author & Founder, Good Shout; Dominic Grant, Director of Sales, Spotify; Katrina Dodd, Editor-at-Large, Contagious and many more.

In response to the results of the first All In Census – the industry workforce’s inclusion survey, and the industry’s talent shortages, the course was reshaped last year for talent with four to five years’ industry experience.

Last year’s course received a unanimously positive response, with attendees reporting that the course was life-changing and opened them up to new ways of thinking.

Suzanne Costello, Events Director, Advertising Association said, “We are immensely proud of the Media Business Course, its rich legacy and the vital role it plays in supporting young industry professionals to develop their skills and advance in their careers. MBC is a celebration of the art, craft and joy of media planning and pitching and we hope that everyone who attends leaves truly motivated and inspired.”

Sharon Lloyd Barnes, Commercial Director & Inclusion Lead, Advertising Association said, “We are excited to be hosting MBC again this summer and to welcome another cohort of media talent. The course is a unique learning experience with an incredible heritage and while the course has evolved to reflect the industry today it still retains its magic. Many ad industry leaders have taken part over the years and now offer their teams the opportunity by pitching against their colleagues for a coveted place.”

Attending companies to date include: Astus, Bountiful Cow, C-Screens, Clear Channel, Clearcast, Digital Cinema Media, Formula 1, Generation Media, Google, ITV, JCDecaux, Mail Metro Media, Mediabridge Global, mSix&Partners, Ocean Outdoor, Paramount, Pearl & Dean and Talon.

The Media Business Course will be taking place at the Grand in Brighton. Earlybird tickets to the course are available until Friday, April 28.
