The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

NEW COURSES IN DIGITAL MARKETING SKILLS, SUBSIDISED BY THE GOVERNMENT

Do you want to improve the skills and productivity of your team? Are you looking to recruit highly talented, diverse individuals with digital marketing skills?

The Institute of Data Marketing (IDM), the DMA’s training arm, has just launched three new Digital Marketing Strategy Skills Bootcamps, starting in the third week of September, taking place in London, Manchester and Bristol.

The courses are subsidised by the Department for Education and those that successfully complete the course get the IDM’s formally-recognised Certificate in Digital Marketing.

This is an amazing opportunity for businesses to train and upskill their teams in digital marketing strategy and tactics, saving on training costs and boosting productivity. They are also open to those with no marketing experience, helping to add promising new additions to companies – people with potential.

SMEs with fewer than 250 employees will only pay £212 per employee.

Larger companies will only pay £637 per employee.

IT’S OUR BRAND NEW AD NET ZERO PODCAST!

In partnership with our friends at Advertising Week, we have launched our very first podcast series: Ad Net Zero: Making Every Ad a Green Ad.

It comes just six weeks before Ad Net Zero features at Advertising Week New York, which takes place from October 17-20. Across six episodes, hosts Stephen Woodford, our CEO, and Sebastian Munden, our Ad Net Zero Chair, engage in conversations with industry leaders about our industry’s path to net zero.

In the first episode Stephen is joined by Alison Pepper, Sustainability Lead at the 4As, to introduce Ad Net Zero and why our industry’s commitment to net zero is vital.

Subsequent episodes will focus on each one of the five actions of the Ad Net Zero Action Plan, ranging from getting your own house in order to harnessing advertising’s power to help shape consumers’ behaviour.

Listen to the first episode via your favourite streaming platform now – available via Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music.

MAPPING THE FUTURE OF THE UK’S CREATIVE INDUSTRIES

What is needed from the skills and talent pipeline to ensure the UK’s creative industries can thrive in this fast-changing world? How does innovation and new technology play a part? What’s more, how could targeted support from the Government fit in?

We have published our response to the House of Lords’ Communications and Digital Committee inquiry into the future of the UK’s creative industries which seeks answers to these questions.

You can read our response here and learn more about the House of Lords’ inquiry here.
