The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

ARE YOU READY FOR CANNES?

As you may have heard, entries for Cannes Lions 2023 are now open and, in order to help award contestants prepare, Cannes Lions is holding a series of Live Briefing sessions. These sessions are a great opportunity for those interested in entering their work into the world’s largest International Festival of Creativity.

The live presentations will be hosted by Cannes Lions’ expert Awards team and will include case studies, Q&As, and insights from LIONS’ winners and previous jury members.

BURNS NIGHT WITH CLEAR CHANNEL

The AA’s Matt and Sharon enjoyed the fantastic hospitality of the Clear Channel team and the Scottish advertising community last week at the annual Burns Night celebrations. The event, a yearly tradition, which starts in Leith and carries on through the evening and into the night, features a bagpipe player, the traditional Address to a Haggis, Scottish folk singing and much more. This year’s celebrations marked the start of Clear Channel’s The R Word roadshow, hosted by Richard Bon – visit their website to find out more.

REUNITED WITH OUR INCLUSION WORKING GROUPS!

This week, our All In Inclusion Working Group had the opportunity to meet the Chairs of our specialist satellite groups for the very first time.

Each individual team has met regularly since the first All In Census to discuss the data and develop the actions which formed the 9 point Action Plan. The core team has helped set the strategic direction and, so far, has enlisted almost 100 All In Champions.

It was lovely for all of us meet in person and get the chance to discuss progress to date as well as the planning for 2023 – which is kicking off with the second All In Census on March 15.
