The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

SUPPORTING UKRAINE

It has been a very difficult week watching events unfold in Ukraine and struggling to know how to best respond. We received a message early in the week from our fellow Cannes Lions representatives in Ukraine asking for help and support and we have watched first-hand the bravery of journalists (often funded by advertising spend) reporting from the country.

To help make sense of everything that is happening, we have put together a dedicated section on our site, gathering information from Government regarding sanctions and exports, as well as industry coverage, news on the situation and sharing how our members are responding. You can also read the note there sent by our Ukrainian colleagues.

Please head here to find out more.

We will continue to update this section with useful information for our industry. If you have an initiative that we can share, please contact aa@adassoc.org.uk

NEW SEARCH TOOL TO HELP UK ADVERTISING GO GLOBAL

We have kick-started #ExportMonth with some great news for those looking to expand their business globally.

Yesterday, our UK Advertising Export Group (UKAEG) launched a new search and selection tool for UK advertising and marketing companies seeking new business around the world. This free-to-use tool for international buyers has been launched with the support of the Department of International Trade (DIT), with the mission of making it easier to promote UK advertising and marketing services outside of the UK.

The site includes a company directory, a specific search by sector feature, an ‘explore the globe’ visual display of case studies and much more.

Expanding your business globally is just one click away. Head to UKAEG’s site to see for yourself! If you want to be featured get in touch with Aisling.Conlon@adassoc.org.uk.

AD NET ZERO & THE LATEST IPCC REPORT

On Tuesday, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), released its latest report, highlighting the urgent challenge of tackling climate change. A spokesperson for the AA told Mediatel: “The latest IPCC report is a stark reminder of the need for immediate climate action”.

Ad Net Zero is our industry-wide drive to reduce the carbon impact of develping, producing and running advertising to real net zero by end 2030. Times like this remind us of how much immediate climate action is needed, and we need to think about how we can positively contribute to long-term sustainable change.

We know that every single person working in the advertising and marketing services industries can act now by encouraging their companies to get involved in Ad Net Zero and by completing the Ad Net Zero Essentials Certificate.
