The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

A GRAND WEEK AT MBC

This week has been all about our Media Business Course.

The course – which kicked off on Tuesday at The Grand in Brighton – brings together media practitioners from across the industry to learn all about the art, craft and joy of media planning and pitching.

Over the last three days, our delegates have heard from a stellar line-up of speakers including Richard Huntington, Chief Strategy Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi; Davina Barker, Sales Director at Digital Cinema Media; Hamid Habib, Deputy MD at Havas Entertainment and Chief Experience Officer at Havas Media Group; Vicky Fox, Chief Planning Officer at OMD; Nick Hurrell, Chief Executive at AKA Advertising, and many others.

Today marks the final day of the course and we cannot wait to find out which syndicate won. Catch up on all that happened on day one here and day two here. And stay tuned to find out who wins!

CALLING ALL TALENT TRAILBLAZERS

Entries are now open for the Talent Trailblazer Award, which we’re pleased to have launched today in partnership with Marketing Week! It will celebrate the organisations and individuals that are opening up the industry to new talent.

Following the launch of our Talent Report in January, we know the industry is determined to find more ways to attract and retain talent as well as maximise the opportunities of apprenticeships and outreach schemes.

The free-to-enter award will spotlight the companies whose initiatives and projects have helped attract talent into the industry who might not have otherwise seen it as an option.

Entries are open from today (14 July) and will close on Friday, 19 August. A shortlist will be announced in September, with the winner to be unveiled at the Marketing Week Awards on 1 November.

Find out all about the award here and enter here.

WELCOMING PARLIAMENTARY STAFFERS TO VCCP

We were delighted to host Parliamentary staffers for a summer drinks reception at VCCP on Tuesday night.

The event, which was co-sponsored by the IPA, ISBA and IAB UK, saw a strong turnout with many staffers from the offices of Cabinet ministers, Labour’s shadow front bench team, and senior backbenchers.

The conversations ranged from skills and apprenticeships to advertising and exports, and everything in between.

A big thank you to VCCP for letting us host the event in their offices and to everyone who was able to join us!
