The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

NEED AN APPRENTICE – LOOK NO FURTHER!

Are you interested in upskilling your staff or adding talent with bags of potential to your company?

Last week, we told you about two apprenticeship programmes for adland, designed by the IPA, and run by the Bauer Academy – a training provider company.

One of the programmes is designed to train apprentices for an Advertising and Media Executive role, and the other is for a Junior Advertising Creative role.

If you are an apprenticeship levy-paying business, then this is a fantastic opportunity for you.

These programmes allow you to upskill existing staff, as well as add talented new joiners to your company.

This is also a great opening for smaller non-levy paying businesses to benefit from heavily subsidised bespoke apprenticeship programmes. Apprenticeships are a great way to recruit people from more diverse backgrounds as these are salaried jobs, with the training taken care of and funded by the apprenticeship levy.

The deadline for applications has been moved back to mid-September, with a new starting date of November, giving companies more time to apply.

Find out more and apply to the Bauer apprenticeship programmes here.

A HEADS UP FROM OUR MEMBER, ROYAL MAIL, RE: UPCOMING STRIKES

Are you worried about how the strike actions may affect your company’s post?

The Communications Workers Union (CWU) strikes are planned for August 26 & 31 and September 8 & 9 and, to avoid any delayed mail, AA Member, Royal Mail, is urging companies to send their post in advance of the strike dates.

Royal Mail will do everything they can on behalf of direct advertisers to ensure that mail gets delivered and that disruptions are as minimised as possible.

The company has well-developed contingency plans, but they cannot fully replace the daily efforts of its frontline workforce. They will be doing their upmost to keep services running with a view to recovering quickly, but customers should expect some disruption on these days.

If you want to find out more about the planned disruptions, Royal Mail has a specific section on its website with updated information on the impact on specific products and services.Check out their dedicated hub here.
