The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

UK HOUSE HEADS TO INDIA

This week, businesses in the UK & India shared market insights & trade opportunities at a series of digital roundtables hosted by the Department for International Trade (DIT) and Creative Industries Council (CIC). As part of the 4-day trade mission, UKAEG hosted a special UK House in India featuring an exclusive interview with Deepika Warrier, CMO, Diageo India in conversation with Julian Boulding, The Network One, discussing the special characteristics of the Indian market, the opportunities for UK companies to engage with India as a market and vice versa. You can watch this discussion on demand here.

On the topic of exporting advertising around the world, our CEO, Stephen Woodford, wrote a piece in Politics Home on UKAEG’s Export Month programme and supporting global Britain’s trading ambitions. He said: “Export Month will be the next step to deliver on our ambitions for UK advertising’s future on the world stage. . . We are inviting our creative leaders and parliamentarians to join us for this pivotal series, in person and online.” You can read the full piece here

Export Month takes place in March, which means it kicks off next week! It will feature a series of hybrid events aimed at boosting global opportunities for advertising trade from the UK, alongside some other very exciting launches and announcements. ADGREEN’S BREAKFAST BRIEFING

AdGreen – an initiative to unite our industry to eliminate the negative environmental impacts of production – held its first Breakfast Briefing event of the year on Wednesday. The team were joined by more than 100 members of the production community and received some brilliant feedback, including:

GET AD NET ZERO CERTIFIED 

Ad Net Zero is UK advertising’s response to the climate emergency. Last November, as part of this initiative, we launched the Ad Net Zero Essentials Certificate, to help people working in our industry understand the climate crisis and the actions needed to achieve net zero emissions in advertising operations by 2030. The Essentials Certificate is a 10-hour (maximum!) online course available to all professionals, both in the UK and internationally, via the IPA’s globally recognised CPD platform.
