The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

Cannes Lions Industry News

Good afternoon and welcome to our Cannes Daily newsletter!

We are super excited to be back at the Festival in our role as UK Rep, in-person, for the first time in three years!

This newsletter will keep you up-to-date with everything we’re up to during the week, including details of our events and activities.

From tomorrow and for the rest of the week, you can expect the Cannes Daily newsletter every morning. Enjoy!

ALL ABOARD THE ADVERTISING EXPRESS!

We safely arrived in Cannes yesterday evening after a trip on the Eurostar and then the TGV via Marseille!

The journey gave us the time and opportunity to meet up with some of the companies involved in our special UK trade mission and we also brought along our UK mascot, Paddington Bear.

For a full update on our travels and for photographic evidence of Paddington in tow, head here.

GREAT CREATIVITY OPENS THE DOOR TO GLOBAL GROWTH

If you missed the details of our special UK trade mission, here’s a quick summary: Our UK trade mission is run by our UK Advertising Exports Group (UKAEG) in partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT), and is backed by a special campaign supported by a coalition of industry partners including the APA, Clear Channel, Channel 4, Framestore, M&C Saatchi, Pinterest, and PwC. Via the trade mission we are profiling the industry’s very best companies, and being a part of it means receiving exclusive networking invites and opportunities to showcase work. We have more than 40 companies joining us via our trade mission this year. Read more about it here.

As well as this, we have 67 UK speakers on stage in the Palais and 42 UK jurors reviewing the world’s best creative work. We are really looking forward to waving the flag for British creativity and meeting as many of our international colleagues as possible.

We will be showcasing all UK winners each day via this newsletter as well, so keep your eyes peeled for the first round tomorrow morning!
