On September 8, the 2022 UK-China Advertising Industry Chain Exchange Salon, hosted by the UK Department for International Trade (DIT), Shanghai International Advertising Festival and the UK Advertising Export Group, helped create further commercial alignment between the East and the West.

The hybrid event focused on “driving business between China and the UK” which discussed popular fields such as gaming, the metaverse, luxury goods, e-commerce and cultural intelligence and how to empower UK and Chinese businesses in the wider international context with more business opportunities. The event was held at the British Consulate General in Shanghai and virtually for both UK and Chinese companies.

In the room there were over 20 Chinese brands looking to expand globally which signified the interest in creating further alignment between East and West and how we can continue to build on the work to connect the UK and China.

During the salon, DIT announced the signing and confirmation of the Sino-ADI Development Base of Advertising Creative Industry Zone, the first authorised national industry park in Shanghai. This will create a strategic cooperation agreement with the UK Advertising Export Group, allowing for the exchange of goods and resources whilst promoting international business cooperation.

After the Salon, VIP guests of the advertising industry had a business dinner to further strengthen their relationships and to explore ways that they can cooperate on future opportunities.
