The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around Brexit, HFSS and gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital charter and our Industrial Strategy campaigns.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 50 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

Exports and International Trade

Our UKAEG member and global executive search business, Grace Blue, is today launching TRANSITION, a free-to-use online platform providing a place for displaced talent to find inspiration, join its network and access opportunities.

It is a global initiative, which at launch, is supported by more than 30 global trade associations and organisations including us at the Advertising Association, The IPA, ISBA and IAB UK. TRANSITION has been created to limit the impact of Covid-19 on talent by providing a platform that will enable quick connections with employers and resources. So, as partners, we are able to provide content and support for career development and, where applicable, new job opportunities.

Juliet Timms, Founder, Grace Blue Partnership, said: “We have never seen such disruption in employment in the marketing, media and advertising industries at all levels, and across many sectors. If you feel this is a platform that could help someone you know or if you know of companies that might be hiring please let them know about TRANSITION. We want to reach every person that has found themselves out of work and every company that might be hiring, and we all need to come together to help.”

Our Chief Executive, Stephen Woodford, commented: “Like in all countries, UK advertising’s employers face a very tough period ahead to retain talent and to carry on recruiting and developing a more diverse and inclusive workforce because of Covid-19. We urge all employers in our industry to use the TRANSITION platform to help keep people from all kinds of backgrounds fully engaged in our industry, to ensure our workforce remains truly world-class.”
