Creative UK has launched a new bullying & harassment resource hub, with the support of the Advertising Association and other industry bodies, to help improve and professionalise behaviours across the creative industries.
A free-to-use ‘It’s NOT OK’ e-learning module has been shaped by senior representatives within the creative industries alongside the UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). After conducting a series of roundtables chaired by Caroline Norbury, OBE, CEO of Creative UK, roundtable members came together to develop responses across three distinct areas, 1) prevent, 2) protect and 3) monitor bullying and harassment across the industry.
The most recent roundtable was attended by the Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer MP KCE and Sir John Whittingdale, Minister for Creative Industries, where the new e-learning module was presented to raise awareness and help prevent incidents of bullying and harassment.
In support of the initiative, our Commercial Director and Inclusion Lead, Sharon Lloyd Barnes, said, “The Advertising Association is delighted to see the launch of the e-learning module to tackle bullying and harassment in the creative industries. It aligns with our industry’s work with All In to identify these behaviours within our workforce and take action to improve the experience of all those working in advertising. This module provides an excellent tool for us to share in order to achieve those objectives.”
#timeTo, the initiative that aims to tackle and stamp out sexual harassment in the advertising and marketing industry, has helped to pave the way for this broader push by the UK’s creative industries.
The ‘It’s NOT OK’ resource is a key tool in establishing a safer and harassment-free sector for everyone in it. Read more and take the new e-learning module here now.
