On Wednesday morning we held our twice-yearly Communications Leaders Breakfast, where communications leads from across our membership join together at AA towers to hear all about key AA comms activity during the final half of 2019, our leading areas of focus and campaigns for H1 2020, and how members can get involved in our plans from a communications perspective.
The meeting included discussions around what to expect at LEAD 2020, the latest on Advertising Pays 8 and an overview of the key issues affecting our industry – from the General Election and Brexit to how we aim to promote UK advertising on the world stage and boost exports through our new UK Advertising Exports Group.
Thanks to all who came and if you’d like to know more about our comms meetings please contact matthew.evans@adassoc.org.uk.
Our Digital Advertising Working Group met yesterday to discuss the ICO’s Adtech Report and the AA’s draft response which includes an industry Action Plan. We will be consulting members further on this in the next two weeks to firm up the position ahead of Simon McDougall’s speech at LEAD and with a view to finalising the document in February. Simon has today published a blog on the ICO’s latest thinking and the reform of real time bidding, which you can read here.
The group also discussed the CMA’s interim report on online platforms and digital advertising. The deadline for the CMA consultation is 12 February.
You’ve made it this far – why not treat yourself and watch our ad of the week?
