JOIN MEDIA SMART AND THE AA ON 10 SEPTEMBER AT MIDDAY FOR A VERY SPECIAL VIRTUAL ROUNDTABLE ON INFLUENCER MARKETING
Media Smart, the industry’s flagship education non-profit with a mission to ensure that every child in the UK, aged 7-16, can confidently navigate the media they consume, is hosting a special virtual roundtable event on Influencer Marketing this September and would be delighted for you to join.
Chaired by Advertising Association Chief Executive Stephen Woodford, the panel for the event will also include Shadow Minister for Cultural Industries, Tracy Brabin MP; ASA CEO Guy Parker; Media Smart Chair and CEO of Omnicom Media Group UK, Dan Clays; Stuart Flint, VP, Sales, TikTok; and Tara Hopkins, Head of Public Policy, EMEA, Instagram; and Charlotte Williams, social influencer and founder of the SevenSix agency.
Young people are growing up in a rapidly changing world full of opportunity and challenge, where media literacy and its associated life skills form an important stepping-stone to future employability, citizenship & well-being. A key area where we can see these changes is in Influencer Marketing and the need to help children understand the commercial link between social influencers and the brands they are promoting.
Discussions during the event will centre on steps already taken by the advertising industry to improve young people’s knowledge of Influencer Marketing; the political perspective; and what else industry can do to build better media and digital literacy on this topic.
