The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

KICK OFF 2022 WITH US AT RENEW

It’s the beginning of a new year and we are very excited for what we have in store for 2022. First things first, setting the agenda for the year ahead is virtual event RENEW, which will take place on 27 January.

Hosted in partnership with the IPA and ISBA, RENEW 2022 will be broadcast live from our lovely studio in London where our host Nina Hossain will deliver a packed morning of content and welcome an incredible line-up of speakers to the stage.

The conference cannot take place in person due to… you-know-who… But rest assured, online platform Hopin allows attendees to easily interact with both speakers and delegates, and explore our partners’ fabulous exhibition booths, so it is almost the same. We’re thinking of it this way – at least everyone gets the best seat in the house!

Discounts are available for members and under 30s. Find out more and book your ticket here.

WHAT’S COMING UP?

Interested in a sneak preview on what’s in store for the AA in 2022? Our CEO Stephen Woodford gave an interview with LBB’s editor Laura Swinton, covering our new year’s resolutions.

Trust, inclusion and sustainability will continue to feature on the agenda while we look to a renewed mission to raise the profile of the industry’s positive social contribution.

We need to be talking about the good work that we do, and we are here every step of the way to navigate our members through the challenges of the pandemic recovery while making the most positive impact possible.

WHY UK ADVERTISING MAKES BRTAIN GREAT

Our year’s mission to elevate the good work that we do received an early boost this week, as the Leader of the Opposition Sir Keir Starmer name-checked British advertising as vital to UK cultural heritage.

The AA welcomed the recognition of our industry’s contribution, with Stephen adding “UK advertising is truly something to be proud of, with a reputation for creativity and effectiveness that is second to none.”

Stephen also highlighted the importance of equipping the next generation of talent with the skills and investment from business and government to support our growing market. The UK ad market is set to reach a record £31.5bn this year – a bright outlook ahead for 2022!
