The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

We would like to thank all the entrants for taking part and our wonderful panel of judges for their valued feedback.

Below you can find our 12 winners and their winning work. Their prize is the opportunity to take part in the Global Young Lions Competition in Cannes.

DESIGN WINNERS

Amy Moore, Midweight Designer, That Lot

Amy is a designer at creative social agency, That Lot. With experience spanning from social-first content for global brands, to designing in-house at Joe & The Juice, various branding projects and everything in between. She is excited to take on a new challenge in Cannes!

Kiko Wu, Midweight Designer, That Lot

Kiko is a designer navigating the wild world of advertising — having taken on both agency life and a master’s in advertising at the same time (don’t try this at home, kids). Her work has appeared on brands like Adobe, Apple TV+, and Disney+. Now, Kiko’s heading to Cannes, armed with big ideas and SPF 50.

What does it mean to be representing the UK in the Global Young Lions Competition?

We’re buzzing to represent the UK at Cannes and didn’t see this coming! We entered just to play, experiment, and see where the idea took us. Gave up the sun to work on Young Lions, and now we’re swapping that for a full week in Cannes. That’s a pretty f***ing good deal.

DIGITAL WINNERS

Caroline Doyle, Creative, DEPT

Caroline is a Creative at DEPT, who thrives bringing bold ideas to life. Hooked on TV ads since her eyes could open, she slipped into the industry at 14 for a two-week thrill, and after six years of full-time giggles, she still can’t believe she gets paid to do this.

Tara Groot Wassink, Junior Creative, DEPT

Tara burst into the industry after a four-year stint studying Advertising, landing her first permanent role at DEPT. One year in, she’s still smashing it and totally gassed to represent the UK at Cannes.

What does it mean to be representing the UK in the Global Young Lions Competition?

Going to Cannes is a huge deal for both of us, made even sweeter by the fact that we get to represent the UK on the global stage. It’s the cherry on top of an already outrageous opportunity – we’re still squealing!

MEDIA WINNERS

Chloe Fanning, Director, Client Advice & Management, Initiative

My passion for media was driven through my career as a planner, starting as an apprentice at 19, working with some of Initiative’s top clients like NatWest. After an unsuccessful entry three years ago, I returned with excitement and hunger (especially with only a few years left of my 20s).

Amanda Aschebrock, Associate Director, Comms Design, Initiative

Having found my feet in media in 2019, I instantly knew it was what I wanted to do long term. Having recently moved from NZ, I’ve had the pleasure of working across a diverse range of clients, currently based in London Initiative, working on one of the UK’s biggest banks.

What does it mean to be representing the UK in the Global Young Lions Competition?

We set out to keep Initiative’s winning streak alive—and we did it! Winning UK Young Lions feels surreal; we’re still pinching ourselves. We’re incredibly honoured to represent the UK at Cannes in June and present at the industry’s pinnacle event of the year. We can’t wait!
