The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

LESS THAN ONE MONTH TO GO!

There’s less than one month to go to the All In Census!

Taking place on March 10, 2021, the industry-wide census will provide the very best record of the make-up of UK advertising’s workforce and a vital benchmark for progress.

The All In campaign team are continuing to recruit industry leaders to commit their support to the fully confidential and aggregated census. All UK advertising and marketing services professionals are invited to take part.

Sharon Lloyd Barnes, our Commercial Director and member of the Inclusion Group, alongside Inclusion Group Chair and CEO of Pearl & Dean, Kathryn Jacob, spoke to Little Black Book about how the census will work and why everyone needs to take part. You can read the article here. Find more on taking part in the census over on our website here.

SHOWCASING YOUR WORK

Now that we are into a new year, we feel that it’s time to refresh our Advertising Pays 8 hub, which showcases the best UK advertising campaigns that make a positive contribution to society.

The hub originally launched featuring case studies that were included in the Advertising Pays 8 report, but over the last year, we have naturally added campaigns related to Covid-19. There are five other categories on the hub that span different elements of social contribution and to showcase the very latest outstanding work, we would like to add more of the industry’s most up-to-date ad campaigns.

As such, if you have any recent campaigns that have made a positive contribution to society and sit under one of the following themes – Health & Wellbeing; Community Improvement; Diversity & Inclusion; Environmental Preservation; Human Rights – please send the below details to Ellie.mason@adassoc.org.uk so that your campaign can be included on the hub.

– Category

– Campaign name

– The brand/organisation

– Agency

– A short summary/with a link to read more

– An image

We look forward to seeing your submissions!

BIRMINGHAM COMMONWEALTH GAMES 2022

Yesterday afternoon, we hosted a roundtable for AA members with the Organising Committee of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 to discuss how the advertising and trading restrictions around the Game will be implemented.

They informed us about the practical details and timings being considered as regards the advertising restrictions that will be put in place temporarily around event venues. They are working with DCMS on the Regulations that will be published later in the year and they will also be publishing practical guidance for the industry in November.

If you would like to be involved in future discussions, please contact Ed.
