The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

UK Young Lions Winners: Digital

/ April 11th 2020

Our UK Young Lions competition this year was based around our diversity and inclusion initiative. We want UK advertising to be the creative industries’ most progressive sector in recruiting, retaining and developing the most inclusive workforce. Our Young Lions in this category were asked to create an integrated digital-let campaign to help to build awareness of the Advertising Associations initiative. View the full competition brief here.

Eytan Smith and Rachel Tweedy of AMV BBDO took the prize for Digital with their brilliant ‘Get Paid’ campaign which the judges loved for the low barrier to getting people involved. View their work here.

Eytan Smith, Copywriter, AMV BBDO

Eytan gets professional kicks out of making Creative Directors cackle. Organises AMV’s annual Secret Santa, which HR hates him for. Wrote an Economist headline once, which made hs old tutor proud, but not his mum who wants him to find a nice Jewish boy. If you know one, DM @eytan_smith.

Rachel Tweedy, Art Director, AMV BBDO

Rachel is a Creative at AMV BBDO. She likes looking at trees, people, and the panoramic dogs Instagram. She doesn’t really like writing bios.

What does it mean to you to be representing the UK at Cannes Lions 2021?

Eytan and Rachel’s regular partners were too old to enter ‘Young’ Lions, so for one magical weekend they worked together. If their partners aren’t careful this could continue.

This year, the judges also highly commended Leah Mammoliti and Chesney Payet of Digitas UK. View their work here.

Leah Mammoliti, Art Director, Digitas UK

Leah is a little Art Director with big ideas. Originally from Perth Australia, she moved to London where she now works for Digitas UK. Leah has a passion for ideas that now only please the eye, but have the potential to make a positive impact on the world.

Chesney Payet, Copywriter, Digitas UK

Chesney has been a storyteller for as long as she can remember. Over the years she’s swapped crazy tales of copywriting, and has been lucky enough to work with incredible brands on some very exciting projects. Occasionally her work still makes in onto her parents fridge.
