IAB UK’S GOLD STANDARD ANNOUNCED AS PLATINUM PARTNER OF RESET 2021

Industry News

IAB UK’s Gold Standard will be the Platinum Partner of RESET 2021, our joint event with the IPA and ISBA, to be held on 28 January.

Replacing the Advertising Association’s LEAD and ISBA’s annual conference, RESET will bring together leaders from brands, agencies, media owners and tech platforms to look at how we can support the UK’s social and economic recovery, how we deal with the repercussions of COVID-19 and how we can deliver on our mission to rebuild public trust in advertising.

First launched in 2017, IAB UK’s Gold Standard draws together existing industry initiatives with four core aims: to reduce ad fraud, uphold brand safety, support user privacy and improve the digital advertising experience for users. The Gold Standard has evolved over the years, with the recent launch of Gold Standard 2.0 further strengthening the criteria and ensuring that it keeps pace with industry challenges.

Currently, 97 companies are Gold Standard certified – spanning media owners, ad tech companies and agencies. Advertisers are also throwing their support behind the initiative, with brands including Unilever, Tesco, Nationwide, ASDA and Vodafone publicly pledging to work solely with Gold Standard certified digital ad suppliers wherever possible. The support of these brands is fundamental in helping to drive change and raise standards across the digital ad industry.

Jon Mew, CEO, IAB UK said:

“IAB UK’s Gold Standard sets out to bring the digital advertising industry together to raise standards from within. Aligning it with 2021’s RESET event feels like a natural fit, as the ad industry comes together to debate current issues – not least how to address declining public trust in advertising. The collective aim of the Gold Standard – to create a sustainable future for digital advertising – is defined by the action individual companies are prepared to take. If we all embrace our responsibility to jointly raise standards and address core challenges, we can bring about real and lasting change. We look forward to supporting RESET 2021 as it brings us together to focus on the future of advertising.”

Stephen Woodford, CEO, Advertising Association said:

“The Advertising Association, IPA and ISBA fully endorse the aims of the Gold Standard to improve the digital advertising experience and we are delighted that the IAB has chosen RESET as a platform to raise awareness of its initiative and continue its important work to help drive change and raise standards across the industry.”
