WARC THIS WAY!
On Tuesday, WARC – the global authority on marketing effectiveness – launched a brilliant new sustainability hub in partnership with us and LIONS, with content powered by Ad Net Zero – our initiative in response to the climate emergency.
The new hub serves as a one-stop resource to help marketing practitioners worldwide tackle the challenges and find innovative ways to implement more sustainable actions to address the climate crisis. It brings together a curated collection of content including best practice, effectiveness case studies and thought leadership pieces.
This builds on our partnership with WARC around ad spend figures – what you might know as the ‘AA/WARC Expenditure Report’ – and is a great new way to share the ambitions and work of Ad Net Zero with people around the world.
Our Chief Executive, Stephen Woodford, commented on the launch: “The challenges of climate change requires collective action, not just in the UK but around the world. This new Sustainability Hub will help advertising practitioners reduce carbon emissions and produce work to support more sustainable ways of living.”

WINNING ON THE GLOBAL STAGE
On Tuesday, we held our first in-person event of the year in London – UKAEG’s ‘How to compete on the global stage – and win’.
We had a stellar line-up of speakers who all discussed their experiences and success stories when growing their business internationally. The event focused on sports advertising and the opportunities that lie ahead in its sector and global events, especially with regards to the World Cup 2022.
Attendees listened to two brilliant panel sessions before hearing about two case studies on extreme sports and being official sponsor to the world’s biggest sporting event.

HOW TO IMPROVE THE EXPERIENCE & REPRESENTATION OF ASIAN TALENT
Following last week’s All In event on Action 4 (Gender), yesterday we held the How-To Session on Action 5: to improve the experience & representation of Asian talent.
Action 5 is to use the guide developed by the All In Asian Working Group, and it covers how to begin tackling the experience of our Asian talent. The guide is the result of 9 months of debate, created as a response to the data from the All In Census, which showed the need to improve the experience of Asian people within the industry.
The session was incredibly powerful and clearly highlighted the need for our industry to implement small but meaningful changes, that will allow for further inclusion and talent retention. We were so lucky to hear the shared experiences of such a stellar line-up of speakers.

PUSH FOR SKILLS IN THE SPRING STATEMENT
We responded to the Chancellor’s spring statement on Wednesday, focusing on the role of advertising in supporting the economy as well as calling for the Government to recognise the value of employer-led skills training.
Our CEO, Stephen Woodford, said: “We stand ready to work with Government as trade bodies and professional associations to help close the skills gap and provide opportunities for people seeking to upskill…”
