Well, after a very late night for many and, perhaps for some an unexpected result in the General Election, here’s our take…
Stephen Woodford, Chief Executive, Advertising Association, commented: “With the clear mandate the Conservatives have won from the electorate we look forward to hearing more about the new Government’s programme for the country beyond Brexit and look forward to engaging in discussions about the future trade deal with the EU.
“Beyond Brexit, we also look forward to hearing how economic growth and prosperity can be shared more widely across the country. Advertising has a unique ability to foster growth among businesses of all shapes and sizes and drives economic progress across the nations and regions. It is also a key driver of export growth and is the fastest-growing of Britain’s services exports.”
You can read the statement in full on our website here, and included in Campaign here. Stephen also wrote a piece on what the General Election will mean for the advertising industry which you can read in The Drum here.
