GET INSIDE THE TRACK ON COP26
On 16 December at 9am we will be hosting a special Ad Net Zero event with COP26 Strategy Director, Charles Ogilvie. As part of this event, Charles will be looking to discuss with members of our industry how they can support efforts to start new, bolder, more engaging conversations with people on climate change in the year of the crucial COP26 summit, which unites the world to tackle climate change.
Ad Net Zero is an industry-wide initiative to help UK advertising respond to the climate crisis caused by C02 emissions. Ad Net Zero’s mission is for immediate, collective industry action to help achieve real net zero carbon emissions from the development, production and media placement of advertising by end of 2030.
Attendees will be able to hear the plans for next year’s event, taking place in November, as well as the recently-launched “Together For Our Planet” campaign. The event will also include a live Q&A session, hosted by our Chief Executive, Stephen Woodford. It is open to anyone in our industry – find all the details and book your free ticket here. You can learn more about Ad Net Zero and download its report here.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
On Wednesday, as the country came out of its second national lockdown, we hosted members and officials from DCMS, BEIS and DIT for our Covid call to discuss concerns and sector-specific business needs looking ahead to Q1 2021. Members reported cautious optimism within the industry but concerns over the on-going Brexit uncertainty remained. The end of the transition period draws closer without a deal or a data adequacy decision from the European Commission.
GroupM also presented findings from its annual end-of-year forecast report, which predicted a 4% decline in UK adspend in 2020, improving on the -12% forecast from its mid-year report published in June. Our next Covid call will be held on Wednesday 13 January, 9-10am. If you’d like to attend please contact Ed, along with any specific issues that you would like to discuss.
