The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

AA STATEMENT ON CHANNEL 4’S PRIVATISATION

Following the news of the Government’s decision to go ahead with the privatisation of Channel 4, we released a statement.

Our CEO, Stephen Woodford, said the decision will have many implications for the shape of the UK ad market.

PSBs remain hugely important to advertisers wanting to reach large and diverse audiences, and maintaining a competitive advertising market is key, he added.

DON’T MISS THE CHANCE TO SUBMIT YOUR BRIEF FOR MBC!

Our iconic Media Business Course is returning this July 5-8, at the Grand Hotel in Brighton. We are super excited to welcome, for the first time, talent with 4 to 5 years of industry experience at an agency, media owner or advertiser.

Delegates will be divided into syndicates to work on a blue-chip client brief and create a full media strategy before pitching against each other to become the coveted MBC winners. Previous comms briefs have come from brands such as Domino’s, Yorkshire Tea and easyJet.

There is still time to submit your brilliant communications problem for the practitioners to solve – but be quick! The deadline to send your idea is April 30th. You can submit it via this form here.

If you would like to attend the MBC, you can find out more information and get your tickets here.

STAND UP TO CANCER AT THE ‘SPRINTATHON’

We have officially signed up to take part in The Marketing Society’s 2022 Sprintathon in aid of Stand Up To Cancer!

On June 7, our team of runners will be dusting off their running shoes and gearing themselves up to race around the track at Battersea Park, joining the fight against cancer.

The Sprintathon is an annual event where teams of four battle it out to run a combined 400m lap and collectively run the distance of a marathon in under two hours.

It is a really fun day and the best part is – it is all for a great cause!

You can find out more & sign up here. It’s on!

FROM 2A’S TO 4A’S

We are very excited to be part of this year’s 4A’s Sustainability Summit, which will bring together brand and agency leaders to work towards one common goal – true environmental sustainability in process and product.

Taking place on April 20 – just in time for Earth Day – our CEO, Stephen Woodford and Mark Read of WPP will be speaking about our climate action work. This will cover Ad Net Zero – our industry-wide drive to reduce the carbon impact of developing, producing and running advertising to real net zero by end of 2030 – and AdGreen – the industry’s initiative to eliminate the negative environmental impacts of advertising production.

This won’t be a session to miss, trust us!
