The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

META AND TEADS TEAM UP TO SPONSOR LEAD

We are delighted to announce that Meta and TEADS will be sponsoring our industry flagship event, LEAD on 25 January, held together with the IPA and ISBA.

Meta and TEADS will join as a Gold partners alongside the IAB, our Platinum partner, for the half-day event.

We will hear from Culture Secretary Michelle Donelan MP, who will be addressing the industry for the first time and Lucy Powell MP, Shadow DCMS Secretary, who will outline Labour’s plans for the creative industries.

MEDIA SMART 2022 IMPACT REPORT REVEALED

As the working year draws to a close, Media Smart, the advertising industry’s education programme has released its Impact Report for 2022.

We’re incredibly proud of the ‘firsts’ Media Smart has achieved this year, which include our SEND adapted resources with DCMS, and launching an in-school delivery programme with OMG UK that introduces students from under-represented backgrounds to careers in advertising and media. This will take place in London schools at the start of January and we are looking at ways to roll out to other cities later in 2023.

One of our highlights this year is achieving a whopping 16,400 resource downloads – this is almost a 50% increase from 2021.

We are delighted that Media Smart’s reach has extended in this way.

FESTIVE CAROLS WITH INDUSTRY COLLEAGUES

On Monday, the annual Communications Industry carols took place at St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street.

Despite the snowy weather, industry professionals turned out for what was a wonderfully festive event.

The evening included readings from supporters, with one from our very own Public Affairs Director, Sue Eustace, and Christmas carols sung beautifully by the St Bride’s Choir. Guests were treated to a special reading by Giles Coren, columnist, food writer and presenter before heading for Christmas drinks afterwards.

It was lovely to see so many of our members and industry friends there!
