The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

The awards, in partnership with Campaign, were created to promote and celebrate advertisers, media organisations and individuals from diverse groups who champion diversity and inclusion.

With a shortlist of 34, the final winners were announced at a breakfast awards ceremony on Tuesday, 21 November.

We were delighted that the awards had a special ‘All In Champion’ category, specifically for companies who have made substantial progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion (D, E & I) and have embedded it in their ethos and company culture, in partnership with the AA. A big congratulations to Omnicom Media Group, our Front Foot member, for winning this award!

Naren Patel, Founder and CEO of MEFA, said: “The winning entry from Omnicom provided a lot more detailed data points which clearly demonstrated the improvements that they have made in their business over the last few years.”

Congratulations to all the other winners too – you can find out more about the awards and the winners here.

DENTSU BIG BANG BALL

Our CEO, Stephen Woodford, attended Dentsu’s annual charity event, the Dentsu Big Bang Ball.

The event raises money for the food waste charity Fair Share UK which takes unwanted food from food supply chains and distributes it to people living with food poverty. It was recently chosen by King Charles to support. 400 people from across the advertising and media industry gathered at the Tate Modern to help raise funds. Dentsu CEO Angela Tangas spoke about Dentsu’s sanpo yoshi philosophy and how improving society is a key part of their strategy.

The evening ended with a live performance from a Tokyo-based DJ called Masa, who used Dentsu technology to overcome considerable personal disabilities.
