The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

Welcome to Cannes Lions, Join Us On Our Tour

/ June 16th 2019

Our UK advertising tour of Cannes Lions starts at 2pm on Monday at the top of the stairs just inside the Palais. We’ll head downstairs first to check out where the Lions-winning work – the crème de la crème of the world’s advertising and marketing creativity – will be displayed each day. Downstairs is also a smart place to soak up some inspiration, work in a corner, make the most of the air-con and grab a coffee whilst listening to one of the many presentations about the winning work throughout the week.

From there, we’ll head back upstairs, check out the main stages where the festival’s biggest speakers will speak to audiences of hundreds, if not, thousands of delegates. A tour around the Palais will also take in the screening rooms of the award-winning work and a heads-up on where things like the press office are. We’ll then head on to the Rotunda where CLX is taking place this year for the first time and drop down a level to see the venue that hosts our Young Lions who are competing against teams from around the globe to prove they are the world’s best. As we pass, we’ll wish them all good luck in their respective competitions.

After that, we’ll head outside and check out the different activations, finishing at our own Creativity Is GREAT space for a special photo. Beyond the official area for delegates, we’ll explain how things work along the Croisette, the many different beaches and venues and highlight where you’ll be able to find UK advertising – from Le Jardin de Clear Channel to the Little Black Book Beach, as well as the Campaign Global Party on Wednesday evening and our special gathering in the Channel 4 Villa towards the end of the week. For the full run-down of our programme, check out our Events section on this site.

All are welcome to join us on our tour and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about UK advertising as we spend an hour together exploring this year’s festival.
