WE’VE MOVED!
We are very excited to finally be able to say that we have a new home! We have finished unpacking and are officially in our own office, on Berners Street in central London.
After long periods of working from home, and so many on-screen meetings, we’re delighted to be able to offer the opportunity to meet with our industry colleagues in person once again. The first one of these occassions was our Board meeting on Wednesday, where we welcomed both in-person and online attendees.
Our new address is: 2nd Floor Orwell House, 16-18 Berners St, London, W1T 3LN
If you are in the area, do pop in and say hi! We’d love to welcome you with lots of smiles and freshly grounded coffee.
On another note, you might be thinking that there’s something different about today’s Ad Matters, and you’d be right. We have refreshed our brand colours – new year, new office, new look!
Over the next few weeks, you will be seeing our updated colour palette roll out across our social media and newsletters – we hope you like it!
ONLINE SAFETY BILL & ONLINE ADVERTISING PROGRAMME
Following the Government’s announcement regarding an update to the Online Safety Bill and the publication of the Online Advertising Programme, our CEO, Stephen Woodford, issued a statement:
“We welcome the publication today of the Online Advertising Programme and look forward to engaging in the comprehensive review the Government is undertaking of the regulatory and self-regulatory framework for online advertising.
We note the Government has also updated the Online Safety Bill to include both scam advertising, as proposed by the Joint Committee, as well as fraudulent advertising.” Read the full comment here.
Creative Industries Minister, Julia Lopez MP, also published an op-ed on the inclusion of scam ads in the Online Saftey Bill, citing our 2022 ad spend predictions. Read more via Campaign here.
IMPROVING THE EXPERIENCE & REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN
This Tuesday, the world celebrated women. International Women’s Day also marked an opportunity for companies to register for All In’s How-To session on workplace inclusion, leading with action on gender equality.
On March 16, All In will host a session on how to implement Action 4: to improve the experience and representation of women. It will feature a stellar line up of speakers: Kate Waters (President for WACL: Director of Client Strategy and Planning, Commercial Online, ITV plc.), Kate Rowlinson (CEO of MediaCom) and Dara Nasr (Managing Director of Twitter).
Improving the experience and representation of Women, Asian talent and Older talent is the focus of the second phase of All In Actions, developed by the Advertising Association’s Inclusion Working Group in partnership with industry groups – WACL, MEFA (Media for All), and 40 Over Forty.
Book your place here and learn how to address gender inequality at the workplace. You can find out more about the How-To events here.
In light of International Women’s Day, we asked our members what they were doing to celebrate women. Read about their brilliant initiatives here.
SEND US A BRIEF FOR OUR MEDIA BUSINESS COURSE
Our iconic Media Business Course (MBC) is back! After a short hiatus due to COVID-19, the three-day event will return from July 5-8 at the Grand Hotel in Brighton.
We are super excited to welcome the rising stars in our industry and provide them with an inspirational and often life-changing learning experience. For the first time, we are aiming at talent with four to five years’ industry experience, in line with the results of the All In Census, which showed the need for greater inclusion and talent retention. Delegates will be divided into syndicates to work on a blue-chip client brief and create a full media strategy before pitching against each other to become the coveted MBC winners.
Speaking of which, we are calling upon brands to submit a challenging brief for delegates to solve before March 31st. Submit your idea via this form and get the collective brains of our industry’s finest working on your communications challenge!
Agencies, media owners and advertisers are also encouraged to register their rising stars for the course via this link here. Read more here.
